Dental Insurance – Grand Prairie, TX
Protecting You When You Need It Most
Did you know that dental insurance is designed to encourage you to take care of your oral health? If you notice, most plans cover some, if not all, preventive care services, such as dental checkups and cleanings, and X-rays. The reason is that insurance companies spend more money in the long run by covering services you require when problems arise. Unfortunately, most people don’t have the luxury of going their entire life without some sort of dental work, but with dental insurance, you can feel more confident about making the right decision to care for your teeth and gums.
At Marvel Dental, we don’t want your dental care to be a heavy financial burden, which is why we accept many PPO dental insurance plans, as well as offer CareCredit, a third-party financier program that offers low-to-no-interest payment plans.
If you are struggling to get the most out of your plan and are unsure of what to do, take the time to meet with one of our team members who will be happy to help you navigate the insurance waters.
How Dental Insurance Works
From monthly premiums to deductibles and annual maximums, every plan is different. When you enroll in coverage, you will be expected to pay a monthly premium to ensure you remain covered. Each year, you will need to meet your deductible in order to gain access to your full range of benefits. Should you require a filling, dental crown, and root canal, you’ll need to keep in mind your annual maximum, as you will be responsible for paying for anything over the amount your dental insurance agrees to pay within a calendar year.
Most dental insurance policies offer a similar structure regarding coverage. You can expect it to look like the following:
- 100% preventive care
- 70-80% minor restorative care
- 50% major restorative care
What is the Different Between Dental and Medical Insurance?
Broken legs, car accident injuries, or even something like diabetic testing would be covered under medical insurance, as it is designed to treat existing problems and emergencies. Dental insurance is the opposite – it focuses more on preventing problems before they begin. Of course, once a problem does arise, you can expect your policy to cover some, if not, all of your necessary treatment.
In-Network vs. Out of Network
In-network providers negotiate services and cost with the dental insurance companies – a reason why it is highly encouraged that you see an in-network provider like Marvel Dental for treatment. However, should you decide to see someone out-of-network, that is fine, too. While stipulations may differ, you can expect most dental offices to assist in helping you better understand your plan and how you can get the most use out of your benefits at the lowest cost.
Marvel Dental is an in-network provider for the following dental insurance companies:
- Delta Dental
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- United Health Care
If you don’t see your insurance plan listed above, do not worry. We work with most major PPO plans. Just call and ask our team to find out how we can help you.
Out of Network
If Marvel Dental is not in your network, that’s okay. We may still be able to help you get many of the same benefits; however, we will need to review your policy first, as this will allow us to formulate the appropriate suggestions regarding treatment. No matter what you decide regarding your dental care, we will be happy to file any necessary paperwork and claims, as well as work on your behalf with the insurance company.
