Rebuild Damaged Teeth with Dental Crowns & Bridges in Grand Prairie

Smiling man and woman outdoors

Many people have that one problem tooth that bothers them every single day. It may have a cavity, been broken in an accident, or perhaps it has gone missing altogether. Whatever the case may be, our dentists are able to help using custom-made crowns and bridges. These are two of the most commonly used restorations in all of dentistry, and the reason for that is simple: they work! With them, our dentists can make even the most compromised smile look and feel like new again.

What is a Dental Crown?

Sometimes called a “cap,” a dental crown is designed to fit over the top of a damaged tooth in order to protect it as well as restore its original shape and appearance.

We typically uses crowns to:

  • Repair large cavities
  • Rebuild broken teeth
  • Strengthen a tooth with a very large filling
  • Hold weakened teeth together
  • Align a crooked bite

· Cosmetically enhance misshapen or undersized teeth

  • Complete a dental implant

Crowns can be made from a variety of materials, but we tend to use all-ceramic ones because they more closely resemble the appearance of natural teeth.

What is a Dental Bridge?

While crowns can help teeth that are still in the gum line, dental bridges are designed to replace one or more missing teeth in a row. To make one, our dentists first place crowns over the teeth on either side of the space in a patient’s smile, and these will be used to support prosthetic teeth to fill it in. Bridges not only restore the look of the smile and the strength of the bite, but they also prevent the remaining teeth from drifting out of place.

For either restoration, it usually takes about two appointments for one to be designed, fabricated, and placed. If you have a smile that is hurting in Grand Prairie, you no longer have to thanks to Marvel Dental, so give us a call today to get the care that you need.
